The Sleeping Sword Written By Michael Morpurgo

The Sleeping Sword

One day Bun Bendle stumbled into an underground hole,
it was a very unusual hole so his dad decided to have a look at it.
This was not just a hole, it was an underground tomb that
contained a shield and a very beautiful sword. As Bun grips the
sword he feels that he has more power than ever!
I recommend this book for ages  7+ because it is an easy reader but is very mysterious.

Gangster Granny by Jemima

While old people may smell of cabbage, that doesn't mean they are completely boring, as Ben finds out in Gangster Granny. Ben spends every Friday night with his Granny while his slightly unusual parents go ballroom dancing. Ben thinks Granny is boring and can't stand her cabbage soup that she seems to eat all of the time. Then, one night Ben sneaks off to see Granny when she doesn't know he is coming and catches her in the act of doing something quite remarkable...
From then on Ben and Granny plan to do something that makes their relationship stronger and Ben admire his Granny. I think Gangster Granny was full of funny ideas and weird relationships with each other. I would recommend this book if you like comedy books!

This is What Happy Looks Like

This Is What Happy Looks Like
By Jennifer E. Smith

‘This is What Happy Looks Like’ follows 16-year-old Ellie, who lives in the ‘middle of nowhere Maine’, a small fishing town. Then one email changes her life forever.

The holidays can’t cheer up Ellie, not even movie star Gareth Larkin, who comes to film his new movie in Maine can make her feel any better. But one thing that does keep her going is a person that she shares emails with. She told him all her secrets, he told her all his. Then they find themselves sharing a friendship that leads to unexpected things. Including meeting each other and finding out their true identities, which doesn’t make things easy when people find out and careers could be over.

This book has a very good moral to it, never give up. Through passion and the ‘never give up’ attitude anything is possible. I liked this book as it shows what life is like for a poorer family and the comparison to the life of a movie star.

I would recommend this book to anyone who liked Divergent and is a good reader. I would say that it is a young adult read.

He needs a place to stay in the winter, somewhere nice and warm but theres not one but two problems one he hates humans and he's planning to stay with them and two the family that he's planning to stay with hates him anyway and he diseves them so that he gets what he wants. Filled with laughter and excitement this book is one of the best short fiction books I've read and its also fun of kids between the age of 7-11

A Royal Match

A Royal Match

A Royal Match is a typical teenage book. It is based on the life of Calypso Kelly, an American girl going to an English boarding school. This school is called St Augustines. Calypso is unpopular, and known as the as the American freak. It's a new term and Calypso Kelly is trying to remake herself. She has a perfect plan to reinvent herself and is determined to be part of the popular group. She can do it, apart from the fact that the Honourable Georgina Castle Orpington and Honey O'Hare are in the popular group too.  Honey O'Hare is the one that gave Calypso's the nick name 'American Freak'. She is the meanest girl at St. Augustine's apart from her sister, Poppy O'Hare.

Her plan starts falling into action, however, when a picture of her and Honey's dream guy, Freddie, ends up in the tabloids Honey will go to any extent to get rid of Calypso. In the mean time Calypso has two boys texting her but nothing is coming up on her phone to find out why this is you'll have to read the book.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes a bit of drama. It is a mature book as well.

Series of unfortunate events

The Bad Beginning

I recommend this book because it got me really involved in the story. The story involves four characters, there is a big sister Violet, brother Klaus, and Sunny the baby. This story is by Lemony Snicket and it is a series. This book was very emotional, if you like some adventure and mixed emotion stories then this is the book for you. Recommend for ages 10+.
